Wednesday's Prayer

When the road is dark and the outcome is uncertain,
when the night seems as if morning may never come,
when the shadows present themselves as monsters,
and the winds sound like goblins at our backs,
when sleep won't come and food loses its taste,
when water fails to refresh and joy becomes a long lost friend,
remind us, O God, that Hope still dwells within us.
Give us the strength to hold up our heads,
the courage to move forward,
and the grace to believe that blessings are on the way.
And when we no longer can help ourselves, let your angels come to our aid.
Amen.
