Gecko on my window ledge
You sit in deep contemplation
As if to make a heart-felt pledge
Sincere but without ostentation.
Are you in a prison cell?
Or are you sitting on a throne?
What’s the version you would tell?
Would you laugh or would you moan?
First catatonic; now you’re not!
You turn your head so swiftly
You flee as if the ledge were hot
Or perhaps you just don’t like me.
